MS:World Studies 7 (Credit: 1.00)

The World Studies course provides a unique balance of history, geography, and culture; it expands students' understanding of each world region through a focus on its major countries. Additionally, students learn the foundations of geography. Topics covered include the United States and Canada, Europe and Russia, and Latin America. The history of medieval times to present day are also included.

MS:World Studies: Europe and Russia (Credit: 0.25)

In this course, students learn about the physical attributes of Europe and Russia. Students also learn about the distinctive cultures and societies that are still part of Europe and Russia. As students move through the course, they learn about the types of government that have existed in Europe and Russia. In addition, students learn how Russian and European economies have developed into major economies today.

MS:World Studies: Medieval Times to Today (Credit: 0.25)

In this course, students learn about the Byzantine Empire and the golden age of Muslim civilization. They also learn about the early history and civilizations of Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe. As they move through the course, students learn about the important changes that took place in the 1700's and 1800's, and they learn about the history of the world from the early 1900's to the present day.

MS:World Studies: The United States and Canada (Credit: 0.25)

In this course, students learn about the geography and history of the United States and Canada. As students move through the course, they learn about each country's struggle for independence, their cultures, and their economies. In addition, students learn how the two nations are now among the wealthiest nations in the world, and how they work together for the welfare of the people.

MS:World Studies:: Latin America (Credit: 0.25)

In this course, students learn about the physical geography and the cultures of Latin America. They also learn about civilizations that existed in this region in the past. As they move through the course, students learn about the cultures and governance in specific countries, including Mexico and a number of countries in Central America, the Caribbean, and South America.
