California Principles of Human Services 1 A - Semester 1 (Credit: 0.50)

This one-semester course is intended to help you gain familiarity with career opportunities in the human services career cluster. This course has 16 lessons organized into 4 units, plus 4 Unit Activities. Each lesson contains one or more Lesson Activities. This course covers the various career pathways in human services, such as counseling, mental health services, and consumer services. In addition, the course covers workplace skills, such as a positive work ethic, integrity, budgeting basics, self-representation, and teamwork.

This one-semester course is intended to help you gain familiarity with career opportunities in the human services career cluster. Florida Fundamentals of Human Service Careers (Credit: 0.50)

This one-semester course is intended to introduce you to the fields and careers in human services. This course has 14 lessons organized into three units, plus three Unit Activities and a Course Activity. Each lesson contains one or more Lesson Activities. This course covers the basics of some important fields in human services, such as childcare, mental health care, counseling, community services, personal care, consumer services, and agriculture. In addition, the course covers workplace skills, such as job acquisition skills and using the Internet effectively.

Principles of Human Services (Credit: 1.00)

This course is designed to enable all students at the high school level to develop the critical skills and knowledge necessary in the human services industry. Students will learn about various personal characteristics that they need to demonstrate in the workplace, such as integrity, and positive work ethics. This course covers topics such as employability skills, counseling and mental health services, and consumer services. The course is based on Career Technical Education (CTE) standards designed to help students prepare for entry into a wide range of careers in the human services field.
